Observation of a Zr(Ti)-Ni-Al primary alloy produced by arc furnace with the aim of subsequently developing a Zr-based amorphous metal alloy. Dark phases enriched in Al surrounded by Ni-rich grains. The image was taken using the Gemini SEM 500 BSD scanning electron microscope at the CMTC.

Manon BORNAND is in her third year of doctoral studies at SIMaP GPM2 as part of the VULBAM project involving Vulkam, Baud Industries, and LAMPA. Her dissertation focuses on the thermodynamic study of the Zr-Ni-Al ternary system for the production of Zr-based amorphous metal alloys.
