Started in January 2017, the SIMaP laboratory celebrates its 10 years of existence...
The SIMaP laboratory was created on January 1st 2007 from association of three research units of the CNRS, Grenoble-INP and UGA. Nowadays this is 230 collaborators, among them 60 researchers and faculties. The project was an opportunity to bring together physicists, mechanical scientists and chemists to develop research in the fields of Materials Science, Metallurgy and Process Engineering. Today SiMaP is well recognized for its expertise in conception and syntheses of novel materials, conception, and development of innovative processing techniques.
In 2017, groups, technical staff and platforms are developing fundamental research works with close connection to industry, in three specifics directions: Multifunctional materials, Processing of bulk materials and surfaces and Materials sustainability.
For the last 10 years scientific productions, awards and prices obtained internationally, are attesting the high level of research and dynamisms in the laboratory. This year of anniversary, SIMaP is proud to actively participating in the high international ranking of the Université de Grenoble-Alpes and Grenoble-INP in the fields of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science.
