- 2000: single crystal growth, by optical floating-zone melting, and characterization of the CMR compound La1.2(Sr,Ca)1.8Mn2O7 (10.1016/S0022-0248(00)00873-3)
- 2006-2008: single crystal growth, by the vertical Bridgman-Stockbarger method, and characterization of non-hygroscopic chlorides and bromides for laser or nonlinear optical operations (10.1016/j.jcrysgro.2005.10.015, 10.1016/j.jcrysgro.2005.11.104, 10.1016/j.jcrysgro.2006.03.024, 10.1016/j.jcrysgro.2008.10.003)
- 2011: high-temperature solution growth of Yb3+-doped RE2O3 (RE=Y,Lu) single crystals at half their melting point temperature (10.1039/C1CE00015B), for laser operation (10.1364/OL.38.004146)
- 2012-2013: single crystal growth, by the Kyropoulos method, and characterization of bulk Li6(Eu,Gd)(BO3)3 (10.1039/C3CE40176F), for heat-scintillation cryogenic bolometer operation (10.1088/1742-6596/375/1/012025)
- 2015: first ever growth of Tb2O3 single crystals by the flux method at half their melting point temperature, and discovery of their high Verdet constant for optical insulation applications (10.1039/C4CE02006E)
