- 2000: single crystal growth, by optical floating-zone melting, and characterization of the CMR compound La1.2(Sr,Ca)1.8Mn2O7 (10.1016/S0022-0248(00)00873-3)

- 2011: high-temperature solution growth of Yb3+-doped RE2O3 (RE=Y,Lu) single crystals at half their melting point temperature (10.1039/C1CE00015B), for laser operation (10.1364/OL.38.004146)
