Metallic stained glass
Optical mapping of a Zr-based metallic glass surface after thermoforming from a Si mold. The mold pattern is reproduced on the alloy thanks to hot compression. The test was performed under ambiant air, so the surface has been oxidized. The external diameter of the spiral is 5 mm, and the thinnest spiral is 35 µm wide.
