Night sky in a decagonal quasicrystal
"X-ray diffraction pattern of a Al-Co-Ni decagonal quasicrystal". The data were extracted from measurements at the synchrotron beamline I16 of Diamond Light Source, a place to where we hope to keep on going after Brexit, while looking for symmetry-forbidden reflections in quasicrystals
About the author: Guillaume BEUTIER is a CNRS research associate in PM group. His research projects focus on the development of advanced X-ray diffraction techniques using synchrotron radiation and using them for various problems of condensed matter physics.
