2021 Doctorate Prize of I-MEP2

Lorenzo MARIANO (SIMaP) Lorenzo MARIANO received the 2021 doctorate prize of the I-MEP2 Doctoral School, in the 2MGE specialty. This prize was awarded to him and three other laureates during the I-MEP2 Doctoral Day on June 30, 2022.
Lorenzo MARIANO did his thesis work at the SIMaP laboratory, in the PM group, under the supervision of Marc De BOISSIEU and Roberta POLONI. His thesis entitled "Ab initio study of materials with spin crossover for applications in gas adsorption" was defended on March 19, 2021.

EPMA Fellowship Award

D. Bouvard (SIMaP) Didier Bouvard, CNRS senior researcher in SIMaP lab, received the European Powder Metallurgy Association - EPMA Fellowship Award 2021 during the opening session of the Euro PM2021 conference. The EPMA Fellowship Award recognises individuals in the scientific and/or academic community for significant contributions to the development of the PM industry.

UGA Thesis Prize

Markku YLONEN - SIMaP Markku YLONEN is one of the 8 young PhDs distinguished by the UGA this year among the 550 PhDs of the class of 2020. Markku YLONEN did his thesis between the SIMaP and LEGI laboratories and in cotutelle with the University of Tampere in Finland. His subject is the monitoring of cavitation erosion by acoustic emission. The winners were be officially awarded at the " PhD Ceremony " on June 22, 2021.
 

TMS award

Michael Langille's work was rewarded by the TMS Light Metals Subject Award - Aluminum Alloys. This award recognizes an individual excellence of a paper within a specific subject area presented the preceding year in a Light Metals Division sponsored session at the Annual Meeting. This work was developped thanks to a partnership between PM group, Queen's University and Constellium society and was defended in June 2019.

Jean Rist Medal

Hugo Van Landeghem - SIMaP Hugo Van Landeghem, a CNRS research associate in Physics of Metals group, was awarded the Jean Rist Medal from SF2M. This Medal is attibuted each year to four young metallurgistswho have distinguished themselves for their scientific and applied works.
 


 

Two SF2M 2018 prizes for SIMaP

SF2M 2018 prizes Two SIMaP researchers were awarded a prize at the Materials 2018 conference held at the end of November. Alexis Deschamps received the David Embury award for Educational Innovation and Guillaume Parry received the Jean Morlet award.

Donald M. Ernst prize

Prix Ernst 2018 N. Cardin SIMaP/CETHIL Nicolas Cardin, a third year PhD student in EPM group of SIMaP laboratory and in CETHIL laboratory (Lyon), is one of the winner of the Donald M. Ernst prize. This prize rewarded his presentation at the  IHPC-IHPS joint conference describing his works on the opportunity to improve heat flat pipe performance by using electric fields.
 
 

µFlu'18-NEGF'18 Award

Prix microflu N. Cardin SIMaP/CETHIL Nicolas Cardin, a third year PhD student in EPM group of SIMaP laboratory and in CETHIL laboratory (Lyon), was awarded the second prize for the best student presentation at the  µFlu'18-NEGF'18 joint conference in Stransbourg, February 28th-March 2nd 2018.

 

Mid-Term Career Investigator Award

R. Poloni (SIMaP)_Mid-Term Career Investigator Award from Camerino Univ. Roberta Poloni, CNRS Research Associate at SIMaP laboratory, is the winner of the Mid-Term Career Investigator Award on the occasion of the celebration of 30 years of Physics at the University of Camerino. A former student of this University, Roberta Poloni has received this award on April 11th 2018 during a ceremony where she gave a seminar about her recent research.


CSMA PhD prize

A. Faure CSMA 2017 PhD prize Alexis FAURE, a SIMaP-SIR group PhD student who defended in October 2017, is one of the winner of the 2017 CSMA (Computational Structural Mechanics Association) PhD prize. This prize has been attributed in the following of the association bi-annual congress that took place in May 2017.



Three Minutes Thesis

Sabrina Fadloun Sabrina Fadloun, PhD student at SIMaP laboratory (TOP group) in partnership with CEA-LETI and SPTS, won the Prize of the Public at the International competition of Ma thèse en 180s (Three Minutes Thesis) in Liège this Thursday, September 28th. Sabrina won the National competition (1st prize and Prize of th Public) in Paris last June, she was one of the two french candidates in Liège.


Best poster prize

Laurence Latu-Romain The prize for the best senior poster was awarded to Ass. Prof. Laurence Latu -Romain (SIR group) during the Gordon Research Conference on the High Temperature Corrosion held at New London (NH, USA), last july.




Three minutes thesis

S. Fadloun Sabrina Fadloun, PhD student at SIMaP laboratory (TOP group) in partnership with CEA-LETI and SPTS, won the French National competition of Ma thèse en 180s (Three Minutes Thesis) in Paris June 14th, 2017.
 


Award

Prix Elena Martin Lopez Elena Martin Lopez, who is doing her PhD at SIMaP laboratory (EPM groupe) in partnership with CEA-Cadarache, has won the Outstanding Student Presentation Award during the 2017 ICAPP congress.
