J'interviens aussi dans les travaux pratiques de métallurgie et céramiques qui se déroulent sur la plateforme commune avec PHELMA.

Ma thématique de recherche est centrée sur la métallurgie en fabrication additive. Nous caractérisons toutes les étapes clés : de la matière première (poudres, fils) jusqu'aux pièces finales en passant par le suivi in situ du procédé. Nous élaborons des matériaux par le procédé de fusion sur lit de poudre par faisceau d'électrons (EBM: Electron Beam Melting) dont nous sommes équipés au laboratoire SIMaP et nous caractérisons également les matériaux produits via d'autres procédés, notamment les procédés WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) et LBM (Laser Beam Melting).
Nous axons nos recherches sur 3 axes principaux:

  • la génération de microstructures PAR fabrication additive, l'idée est ici de tirer partie des spécificités de ces procédés, notamment les conditions de refroidissement très rapides, afin de produire des microstructues inédites et originales.
  • le design de microstructures POUR la fabrication additive, le but étant de proposer de nouvelles stratégies pour parvenir à de nouvelles compositions d'alliages ou à des modifications de nuances existantes pour les rendre compatible avec ces procédés émergents.
  • la fabrication et la caractérisation de matériaux architecturés notamment des structures dites "lattices", pour lesquels la fabrication additive sur lit de poudre constitue la voie privilégiée d'élaboration en autorisant des formes extrêmement complexes.
