Frédéric De Geuser, CNRS researcher and specialist of precipitation mechanisms in metallic alloy, is one of the winners of the 2016 CNRS Bronze Medal. The CNRS Bronze Medal recognizes a researcher's first work, which makes that person a specialist with talent in a particular field. This medal is a way for the CNRS to encourage the researcher to continue work that has met with initial success and already produced fruitful results.
Marc Verdier, CNRS senior researcher and specialist of scale effects in plasticity of metal, is the winner of the 2015 Constellium prize of the Academie des Sciences. The Constellium Prize, a yearly award, is awarded to a scientist of any citizenship with an international reputation in recognition of fundamental or applied scientific achievements in any field which can contribute to progress in the aluminium conversion industry or, more broadly, in general metallurgical knowledge and innovation in engineering sciences linked to the production or implementation of metallic materials that could be useful to this industry.
